The Airbus A320 family is a family of short-medium range, narrow body, passenger commercial airliners produces by Airbus. The family includes A318s, A319, A320 and A321, as well as the business jet ACJ. This is the corporate version of the A319 jet. An empty leg, or ferry flight, refers to a private jet flying "empty" after dropping off passengers, or en route to pick up passengers. As the flight is already paid for, we offer significant discounts on these flights. LunaJets can offer such prices when the empty leg of a private jet matches your itinerary and timing exactly. This option is for one-way flights only.
Charter, also called air taxi or ad-hoc flights require certification from the associated country's regulating body such as the FAA in the U.S. The regulations are differentiated from typical commercial/passenger service by offering a non-scheduled service. In the U.S. these flights are regulated under FAA Part 135[1]. There are some cases where a charter operator can sell scheduled flights, but only in limited quantities[2].

At Wings Up, passengers flying out of a private airport can board and be ready for flight a mere five minutes upon arrival. Other advantages of flying out of a private airport include bypassing TSA lines and body scans, in addition to avoiding the headache of flight delays or cancelations. International chartered flights still require a passport and all mandatory FAA regulations but don’t require arrival hours before takeoff, saving travelers precious time and energy.

Stratos was so easy to work with. Kerri was so understanding of a couple itinerary changes we had to make to ensure a safe, smooth flight. As our charter ops director, I sincerely appreciate when our customers realize that our decisions are in their best interest. Though not always ideal, we always provide our best option given uncontrollable variables such as weather, winds, etc. Thank you so much for doing such an awesome job.Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated in return!

I have worked with quite a few different charter companies over the years and Stratos Jets has been the easiest to work with. I always work with Kerry Hill because she very professional, friendly, and is just down right awesome at her job. I often need last minute trips for my boss and she always gets back to me quickly regardless of what time of day it is. I truely feel she goes above and beyond to make sure every aspect of the trip runs smoothly and everyone is happy. I can't say enough about how much stress is taken out of booking these flights because I know Stratos and Kerry have everything I need covered.

No matter what company you're flying with, be sure to ask if there two pilots or one. (Though two pilots are standard on commercial flights, regulations vary for private planes of all sizes.) It also helps to ask if the operator owns the plane—typically, companies that own their planes offer better service. Never forget to ask about daily minimums and taxi fees. "If the hourly rate is $9,000 and you have a single 40-minute flight, you might assume you are going to pay $6,000," says Doug Gollan, creator of PrivateJetCardComparisons.com. "But if your provider has a daily minimum of 1.5 hours, you are going to actually be charged $13,500, plus taxi time, which in my comparisons I have found varies between being included and up to 12 minutes per segment."

You will be told how much the hold can take on your chosen aircraft and can upgrade if you feel more space is needed. This will generally be far more than that of a commercial airline. You may also need to upgrade if carrying things like golf clubs and skis. If travelling with a gun, you will need to provide a license and the gun and ammunition must be kept separate. It is then at the captain’s discretion whether it can be on board.
